Painter of Light and Color

Susan Winter is a painter of light and color.  She was especially influenced by the painters, Mary Cassatt and Claude Monet, and her wonderful teachers, Daniel Greene and Nelson Shanks.  She loves to experiment with the effect of light on her subjects, both landscape and figural.  Ms. Winter enjoys both pastel and oil, very often combining watercolor washes as an underpainting for her pastels.  Her oils can be bold, done with palette knife, or soft and painterly, done with brushes.  Whichever her method, color and light remain her focus.  Thank you for looking.  Winter also works by commission, creating for you something special for your home and heart.
